Charlie Papazian Returns to Montana for Jobs Summit

It seems like yester-week that Charlie Papazian was floating the waters of Flathead Lake with brewers from all over Montana...wait, it was. And now he's back!

Charlie Papazian will be moderating the panel, Bottoms Up - Exploring Growth in Montana's Craft Beer Industry, on Monday September 16 at 1:00 p.m. in Butte, Montana, thanks to an invitation from Senator Max Baucus (the co-founder of the Senate’s Bipartisan Craft Brewers Caucus) for the Montana Jobs Summit.

Speaking on the panel will be three Montana brewery owners and one distribution rep:
·         Neal Leathers, President/Co-founder, Big Sky Brewing
·         Max Pigman, Owner, Lewis and Clark Brewing
·         Jim Devine, Owner, Beaver Creek Brewery
·         Ed Brandt, President/Owner, Cardinal Distributing

The panel represents a solid mix of brewery sizes, distribution plans, and business models. From Montana's largest brewery to one of its most remote, plus a viewpoint from the distribution side, it should be a lively and poignant discussion about where Montana craft beer can go.

Here is the panel discussion description:

Bottoms Up – Exploring Growth in Montana’s Craft Beer Industry
Location: Natural Resource Building 128
Description: The craft brewing industry in Montana has experienced double-digit growth in the barrels of beer produced during the past few years. There are currently 40 breweries operating in the state that produce over 110,000 barrels of beer annually, much of it using grain malted right here in Big Sky country. This panel will feature brewery owners and representatives from the distributing industry discussing how to foster further opportunities for continued growth of Montana-made beers.

Registration to attend the conference is free, but limited. Register or find out more at
