Alaskan Birch Bock at Grizzly Grocery in Missoula

Alaskan Brewing Co.'s latest Pilot Series beer, Birch Bock, was spotted at Grizzly Grocery on Higgins Ave. in Missoula recently for $7.00 a bottle.  It's a Doppelbock-style ale brewed with Alaska birch syrup and checks in as a pretty sweet beer.  It hasn't been seen anywhere else in town yet, so check it out. 

Missoula Craft Beer Week Kicks Off Today!

Starting today, May 1, and running through May 5, Missoula beer lovers will be celebrating the inagural Missoula Craft Beer Week, a week-long series of events presented by Montana Beer Finder, Growler Fills and the Missoula Downtown Association.

Tonight, you can head down the to Rhino and sample any one of their 50 beers on tap in a keepsake 7 oz. glass for only $1.75. The events roll on throughout the week, including a Beer/Cheese pairing at Caffe Dolce, a homebrewing demo at Summer Sun Brew Supply, the Montana debut of "The Love of Beer," a documentary about women in the craft brewing industry, a three-stop brewery bus tour complete with food and drinks, and the event that caps it all off, the 20th Annual Garden City Brewfest at Caras Park on Saturday.
